MBA tuition in Tbilisi: the numbers

Two points of caution. First, $4,000–$6,500 is the range covering all 25 programs at the university — medicine, engineering, business, languages. The MBA has one specific figure inside that range, and you should confirm it on the program page rather than assume the midpoint.

Second, tuition is quoted per academic year. A two-year MBA therefore involves two tuition payments, not one. Many universities in Georgia allow payment per semester rather than a single annual lump sum, but that is a question to put to the admissions office in writing — do not assume a payment plan exists until someone confirms it for your program.

What tuition does not cover

Tuition is the predictable part of your budget. These are the categories that are not tuition and that we deliberately do not attach invented numbers to:

• Accommodation. Rent in Tbilisi varies enormously by district, by whether you share, and by season. Students arriving in a group and renting together pay far less per head than someone taking a one-bedroom apartment alone. • Food and daily living. Cooking at home versus eating out changes this figure by a multiple, not a margin.
• Visa and immigration costs. Student visa fees, residence permit applications, translations and apostilles all cost money and are paid to government offices, not the university. Our visa page walks through the process.
• Document preparation. Notarized translations of your bachelor's diploma and transcript, courier fees, and in some countries an apostille from your foreign ministry.
• Health insurance. Required for residence purposes; the cost depends on the policy.
• Flights. Two years means at least a few return trips home for most students.

If you are building a family budget, treat tuition as fixed and everything above as a second, separate line that you research for your own situation. An honest planning approach is to price tuition exactly and living costs conservatively.

How the MBA compares with other master's programs at the same university

The MBA is not the only English-taught master's in Tbilisi on this list, and all of them fall inside the same $4,000–$6,500 per year band. If cost is your primary filter, the choice between them is about content, not price.

Admission requirements for the MBA at the University of Georgia

For master's-level entry, the document set that appears across programs is:

• Bachelor's Degree Diploma — your completed undergraduate qualification
• Transcript of records — the subject-by-subject academic record behind that diploma
• Passport — the page or pages carrying your personal information, photo and signature
• Evidence of English Language Proficiency — where applicable, since instruction is in English

For bachelor's and single-cycle programs the equivalent set is High School and A-Level certificates, evidence of English proficiency where applicable, and a passport scan.

Note what is not on that list: the published requirements do not include a GMAT or GRE score. That does not mean the university will never ask for supporting material specific to your profile, so treat the list as the baseline and confirm anything unusual about your background — a diploma from a country with a very different grading system, for instance — with admissions directly.

Get your diploma and transcript translated and legalized early. In most of the countries our applicants come from, that process takes longer than the application itself.

Student visa and residence: the part that trips people up

A Georgian student visa is applied for on the basis of an admission decision, not before it. The sequence is: apply to the program, receive your offer and enrollment documentation, then submit the visa application. Students from some countries can enter Georgia without a visa and regularize status afterward; students from others must obtain the visa before travel. Which category you fall into depends on your passport, not on the university.

This matters for the MBA budget in two ways. Visa and residence permit processing has its own fees and its own timetable, and a delayed document from your home country can push you past an intake. The current intake listed is Spring 2026, so if you are reading this with that intake in mind, the document collection needs to start now rather than after an offer arrives.

People searching for MBA cost in Tbilisi often compare it against undergraduate options for a sibling or a second choice. The same $4,000–$6,500 per year band applies across all 25 programs at the University of Georgia, so:

• BBA fees. There are three business undergraduate options listed: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (3 Years), Bachelor of Business Analytics (BBA – Undergraduate) at 4 years, and a 3-year version of the Business Analytics degree. A 3-year BBA means one fewer year of tuition and living costs than a 4-year route — a real difference in total spend.
• Nursing. The Bachelor of Nursing is listed as an English-taught program in Tbilisi. Total cost depends on program length; bachelor durations here run 3 or 4 years.
• Pharmacy. The route to working as a pharmacist starts with the Bachelor of Pharmacy; licensing afterward is governed by the country where you intend to practice, not by the university.
• Medicine and dentistry. General Medicine (MBBS) is a single-cycle program and Dentistry (DMD) a longer program too — durations listed include 5 years (10 semesters) and 6 years (12 semesters). Multiply the annual figure by the program length before comparing. A $5,000 six-year degree costs more in total than a $6,500 two-year one.

The drawbacks, stated plainly

One university, 25 programs. admission.edu.ge currently lists one university in Georgia — the University of Georgia in Tbilisi. If you want to compare five business schools inside Georgia, this is not the place to do that comparison.

Winters and distance. Tbilisi winters are cold and grey, and for students from the Gulf, Nigeria or southern India the adjustment is real. Flights home are not short or cheap from everywhere.

Language outside the classroom. Your MBA is taught in English. Your landlord, the pharmacy, the utility office and most of daily administration are in Georgian, with Russian widely understood. English is common among younger people in Tbilisi and rarer elsewhere. Read about Georgia and student life before deciding this suits you.

Recognition is your homework, not ours. Whether a Georgian MBA is accepted by a specific employer, professional body or government ministry in your country is something you verify with that body before you enroll. Nobody should tell you it is automatically recognized everywhere.

An MBA is not a work visa. Studying in Georgia gives you a student residence status. Permission to work in Georgia after graduation, or in a third country, is a separate legal question.

What applying actually involves

The order of operations:

1. Confirm the exact tuition figure for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) on its program page — not the $4,000–$6,500 range, the specific number.
2. Collect the four documents: bachelor's diploma, transcript of records, passport information page, and English proficiency evidence if it applies to you.
3. Submit the application through the application form. It is short; the document gathering is the slow part.
4. Wait for the admission decision, then start the visa process on the basis of that decision.
5. Arrange housing. Do not sign a long lease from abroad without seeing the place or having someone you trust see it.
