Step 1

Tuition Fee Payment

Pay your tuition fee correctly to avoid delays in your visa process and enrollment confirmation.

Critical: Tuition fee must be paid only to the university account mentioned in your acceptance letter. The university has no responsibility for payments made to third parties, partners, or staff.

Payment Reference

Your payment reason must include: Passport Number + Full Name + "Tuition Fee" + UG Number. Avoid long text like program names or dates of birth.

Intermediary Bank

Intermediary bank information must be stated in the transfer. Without it, the university cannot track the money from their side.

Swift Copy Required

Send us the Swift copy of your receipt. Without it, payment confirmation takes longer and visa documents will not be issued until payment is confirmed.

Recommendation

We recommend paying at least 1 full semester tuition fee instead of just $1,000. This improves your visa application, as some Georgian embassies require 1-2 semester payment proof.

Important: Keep all payment receipts from your entire education period until graduation. Scan everything properly and save copies in multiple locations. The remaining tuition must be paid upon arrival.
Step 2

MYUG Portal

Your central hub for all university communication, registration, and academic management.

my.ug.edu.ge

Official UG student portal — also available as a mobile app

You are responsible for checking messages, announcements, academic calendar, registration details, and financial updates through this platform.

The study office and financial department will not send information to your agents, friends, or parents. You are entitled and responsible to check everything yourself.

Review all sections of MYUG carefully. Syllabi, course prerequisites, and study charts are available on the platform.

The "Management" tab contains applications you can send to different authorities. Visa documents are not included here and can only be prepared by international relations.

Step 3

Visa Application

Study visa is mandatory for everyone, even from countries with free-visa regime. No visa can be obtained from inside Georgia.

Important: Even if your country has a free-visa agreement with Georgia, you cannot use it. Those agreements are for tourism only. A study visa is mandatory for all students.

Step 4

Travel to Georgia

Essential preparation tips to ensure smooth entry. Border police has the right to review documents and accept or deny entry.

All visa documents must be printed and arranged with discipline in proper folders. Know exactly what documents you are carrying. We advise writing a small note on the back of each document in English and your own language with a pencil, so when asked, you know which one to present.

You must have at least 3 months travel insurance from your own country covering $30,000 USD. We firmly advise getting 6 months coverage.

Your visa documents indicate university dorm. This is for legal aid, which you will present if police ask. If you have a different legal, notarized contract for another place, it must be in both Georgian and English for at least 6 months.

You must carry the rest of your tuition fee in cash, unless you have a written statement from the university confirming full yearly payment.

Do not bring more than 10,000 Euros. Even 10 extra dollars/euros must be declared to customs authorities at the airport.
Tablets (headache, diarrhea, and many other medicines) are not allowed in Georgia unless you have a prescription that is translated, notarized, and confirmed by the local Georgian embassy. All medicines are available in Georgia at affordable prices.

Try not to bring food unless for 1-2 meals. All foods, vegetables, herbs, meats (halal and non-halal), dairy products, and medicines are available in Georgia at affordable prices, often 24/7. Bringing such items can confuse border authorities and trigger extra investigation.

You must know the details of your university, program, and even what you'll study in the first semester. Police may ask and you need to answer firmly and with absolute honesty. If you don't know the answer, are unsure, or hide information, you will be deported even with a study visa, and return will be very difficult.
Do not mention that you are coming to Georgia to work. Although students have the right to work, working in Georgia requires a work permit and its own visa. If border police believe you can't afford living and studying costs, you will be deported and return will be very difficult.

If you need airport pickup, contact us and it will be arranged for a certain fee. You can also use taxi apps available in Tbilisi such as Bolt and YandexGo — both are reliable, affordable, and widely used by locals and students. We're happy to help make your arrival as smooth as possible.
